Com Trouble with the IFD 440

Lately, the com sounds like I am talking and listening through a tin can. After a while, all I get is static. I call Avidyne support, where all I got was "please see your Avidyne dealer, we will be happy to work with your Avidyne dealer to resolve this issue". They really should just put that as a recording. The nav side appears to be fine.

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms with the com?
