I live in south-central Texas, and don't deal with cold too often. This winter had been particularly chilly, and this morning I went out to fly a bit (35 degrees at the hangar). However, my 79 Archer wouldn't start. It cranked over pretty reliably (nothing unusual, just not as energetic as I would expect in July) but didn't get any ignition. Tried the usual primer, and even the non recommended but often responsive throttle acceleration pump a few times. I grew up with a '66 ford mustang, so I know how to get these stubborn carburetor motors running usually. Today was the first time I didn't get any ignition, and without draining the battery decided today was not my day to fly. So, any advice on techniques would be welcome 'cause I'm anxious to get airborne before the next weather system shuts me down for the next few days.
