My '65 Cherokee 180 C does not have a CHT gauge of any sort. Just the single EGT. Talking to my IA as I'm having two cylinders rebuilt (1800 hr engine, seems like the best option at this time) is having some soulful a CHT put in. Not really needed per se, but I would really like to better monitor the engine. At this time, I don't feel I need a more formal engine monitor (yes, it would be nice).

One item- my engine has a Tanis heater system with the heating elements that go into the cylinder head holes. And where CHT probes would go. Thus with 4 CHT I would lose the cylinder heating option. Which works well during the winter. My I A is not a fan of plug mount CHT probes.

What would the wise sages here recommend?
