I woke up in Flagstaff AZ Wednesday with over an inch of snow and ice on my Piper Dakota. After sweeping off the snow, I checked the flaps. They worked as expected on the first and second clicks but would not retract from the third click.
So with the flaps full down and the handle in the zero flap position, I stepped on the wing and the flaps popped full up. They then worked as expected in all 3 positions. After a no flaps takeoff, the plane felt out of trim.
Is it possible for a flap control cable to come off a pulley and cause a out of trim condition? I am not that familiar with the flap mechanism.
Any ideas?
