I have spent many months trying to narrow down which plane to purchase for my first. I've tried to be honest with myself and not shoot for the moon right off the bat for my first plane and with the help from all of you, have decided to go with a Cherokee 180 or Archer.
I feel this is the best route to "start" with to learn the ownership in's and out's. Also cheaper to operate per hour, hence able to log more hours and lower insurance rates before moving up to say a Dakota or something larger.
My question to you guys!?
There are so many models throughout the years, which year/model would you recommend looking at? Staying away from? etc..
Would like to buy as new as I can but not sure where the line is as far as a large jump in insurance, annuals, etc...?
Wanting a good IFR platform, Decent speed and payload for this make and model..
Thanks again for your help!!
