I am a soon to be new pilot. I grew up flying with my grandfather in a T tail turbo arrow. I'm looking for some advice I'm 28 years old and I will be starting my classes to get my pilots license around the middle of September.
I will start with my flight mission I live in East Tennessee and I've purchased a condo in Naples FL. I want to fly to and from but in a turbo arrow that's a little over a 5 hour flight I currently don't know how long it would be in a 140 but I'm guessing considerably longer. Now I don't have any logged hours in any aircraft but I have flown with my grandfather doing 100% of the flying from take off to landing I would say I have over 600 hours doing that and at least 1000 touch and goes I do understand that the arrow is a complex aircraft but I'm not going into this with no experience.
So here's the question. I can buy a 140 for an incredibly cheap price which I like because in about 3-5 years I'm gonna seriously look at picking up a 200 plus knot plane. As my company grows I'm gonna be doing a lot more x/c flights. But I'm worried that saving the money will really really hinder my plans to fly to back and forth from Florida a few times a month. So what kind of performance can I get with me my wife and a 4 year old in a 140 and is this kind of flying reasonable in this type of craft. Or should I spend the extra and just buy the arrow and what kind of performance can I get out of an arrow
