I will be taking possession of a 1973 Challenger next weekend. It needs a better gps, and ADS-B. It has a KLN90B and a KMD250 moving map display but is VFR only. I will be removing both those and a MAC1700. Do these have an resale value?

My current thought is to get a used Garmin 530W or a GTN650 for a GPS. I will be using Foreflight on an iPad too.

It was recommended to me to add a GDL82 for ADS-B. I am also considering a Flightstream 210 for ease of connecting. So does a GDL84 (with the 210) make more sense? To be honest, I am not sure of the differences. My A&P suggested looking into a Skybeacon. Any practical suggestions here?

IF I have any funds remaining, would they be better spent on an engine monitor or an autopilot? I will be instructing my kids to get their Instrument rating along with some 550 nm cross country trips so I want a pretty capable trainer and cruiser.

I am open to all suggestions at “reasonable” costs.
