Has anyone had issues with the Century 41 AP altitude hold failing? I had a run away trim issue while using Atitude hold while in IMC. I had used the AP in altitude hold for the previous 2 hours of this trip with no issues. We entered IMC conditions with light rain, pitot heat on, and within seconds the Autopilot ran a uncommanded trim down. After a fuel stop we had another 3 hours of flying where the AP would not hold altitude, (run away nose down trim). In the attitude hold mode, the AP nose up response was very sluggish. Prior to my next flight I held the pitot static drain ports open for about 20 seconds. This seemed to resolve the situation, however it reappeared yesterday. Curious if anyone has had similar issues, or may have recommended inspections or trouble shooting procedures. Also has anyone had Century Flight Systems in Mineral Wells, Tx service their AP, it’s only a few minutes away. One other note is the Airplane was on the ramp in a pretty good rain 24-48 hours before the flight. Thanks.
