I have recently noticed that my carb heat lever will drop down aprox 1/4 the distance during flight. I have check the connection at the cable end under the engine and all is working as it should. I can turn it off and it will hold in that position until I start up the engine and the vibration lets it drop. Is there an adjustment in the mechanism that allows you to tighten up that lever for more mechanical tension to hold it in place.
