Bulkhead repair

I figured since I went through the grief to remove the rear bulkhead for a PET repair I might as well fix the cracks in the bulkhead at the same time. There are multiple cracks on the bottom section and I am wondering if anyone has had success with fiberglassing over the old Piper plastic? I'm thinking another option might be to pop rivet a strip of aluminum the entire length of the bottom?
