I was IFR today over Florida at 9000'. About 70 degrees outside, obviously humid and carb temp of 29 or 30. 67% power and fuel flow of 13.5. After 5-10 min of in/out of clouds there was a very brief (less than a second) stumble. It immediately returned to normal... just a hiccup.

I turned on carb heat which raised the carb temp to 50 or 55 (can't recall) and let it run there for a bit. With the carb heat on, the EGT spread got narrower (from about 200 to 140).

Do you folks think I picked up a bit of carb ice?

I'm a bit concerned as it has never done that (but I am based in dry air Nevada) and I am about to take it over water from Key West to Cozumel which is two legs of 90 miles separated by some land over Cuba.
