Can any A&P's or knowledgeable people please take a look at the snapshots from todays cylinder borescope. The engine is in a Cherokee 180, has 400 hours on it, all cylinders are in the mid 70's, and consumes about 1/2 quart of oil in 25 hours.

The engine runs great. Also, all valves looked good with no irregularities.

All cylinders have what looks like lead on the top of the pistons. I also noticed what looks like carbon on the exhaust valves. This carbon material is very powdery because I just touched it with the borescope and it turned to dust.

If this is lead on the pistons, what is the best way to remove it? Is he running the motor too rich??

What about Marvel Mystery Oil?? Running on the lean side of peak??

Thanks for the replies.
