Yesterday during start up I turned on the boost pump. It ran for about five seconds then quit. As this is my first Piper aircraft (1964 PA28-140) do these pumps just fail after a while or could it an electrical issue? I went thru my logs and found no entries pertaining to it ever being changed. I know at my last annual my AME cleaned the filter but has never given me a problem until now.
