I always carry an extra drain valve and an extra o-ring.  When I get a leak that doesn't respond to 'snapping' the valve, I replace it with the spare and put the extra o-ring on the leaky valve, making it the next replacement valve.  Keep several o-ring packets on hand to provide your reserve supply ( they come one per packet)..
