Hello all,
Our PA28-140 started to have audible noise coming from the left magneto during run up. There is also a slight noise coming from the right magneto also. The rpms do not drop during run up and my husband did a few take offs and landings without any loss in power problems. The sound is hard to describe and very loud especially when heard from outside the plane. Seems to be coming through the Power Flow exhaust, almost like some fuel burning. Is it time for at least one new mag on the left or rebuild? The plane did sit idle for four months due to illnesses, life, etc. which we know is bad for any aircraft! We are in Eastern North Carolina, high temps, high humidity.
Thanks!!!!
