Last weekend I replaced my door seals with now one with the help of a friend. He unfortunately left a towel with some adhesive remover residue, lying on my wing. It ended up eating away some of the paint and left the micro fiber towel mark behind (see pic). I intend to fix this with touch up paint but I've never done an area so big before.

The procedure I've in mind (after some online research) is; sand to bare metal -> apply zinc phosphate -> paint -> apply clear coat. Would this be enough?

I've seen many posts about using aluminaprep and alodine but I am not sure if it is really worth the effort for such small area. I also have concerns about how not to damage the surrounding paint so I don't end up having to paint the whole section of the wing.

I am looking for advice on best practices to do touch up on small/medium sized areas.
thanks!
Baris
