Avidyne/Garmin Database costs

Orest you seem to be the local expert to ask questions about the IFF 549/440. I just sold my archer and am in the process of buying a Lance with a garmin 430 and 530. I really like the avidyne stuff and was considering swapping but I just got the subscription difference. It seems a lot cheaper to buy data for garmin than avidyne. The plane also has an Aspen 1000 pro. Why the big differences in database costs!!
