I've just purchased a '73 Cherokee Six 300 with what I'm told is a working Piper AutoControl III autopilot (pic below).

The aircraft only has 2,000 original hours, so I believe that the servos are in good shape.

I'm a newbie to all this, but I'm told these autopilots are worth getting tuned up rather than buying a new one.

My questions:

1. What's my best option to get the autopilot overhauled and is it worth it? I live in Boulder, Colorado.

2. There is no Radio Coupler with this autopilot. I guess that was an option. Is it possible and worth it to add a Radio Coupler to my setup? I'd love to link it with a Garmin GPS/Nav/Comm.

I see radio couplers for sale on ebay, but they're all p/n 1C388M rather than the p/n 1C388P that I think are for the Piper.

Thanks in advance for your help!
