My Cherokee has a PS Engineeering PMA 4000 audio panel in it. I like the panel, but am having problems with the auto squelch feature. My set of jacks works fine, but we bought my Fiance an ANR headset yesterday and tried it in the plane. Most of her transmissions were loud and clear, but it would cut in and out. If she put the mic practically in her mouth, it would transmit 100 percent. Pull the mic back just slightly and it would cut in and out. Normally I would think squelch problem and adjust, but my panel has auto squelch and is not adjustable to my knowledge. We did think faulty headset and return it. It was the only set the shop had so we did not get a replacement. Other than faulty headset any thoughts on the auto squelch and are there any problems associated with ANR headsets with this feature? Thanks
