A few days ago I pulled an old CD player out of the panel and moved a couple things in the radio stack. Today I finished cleaning up the adjustments and went to check the radios. Having some issues and wanted to describe the symptoms to see if anyone could help me pinpoint things.

First off the CD player was a PSE model. Am/fm / CD player. I pulled the unit, its rack, and all of the wiring harness that I could. I did not remove beyond any splices to avoid disrupting anything else.

Radio check today.

Audio panel is GMA340. Com 1 is GNS530w. Com 2 KT155.

On com 1 hold PTT switch. Headset mutes. Nothing transmits. TX is displayed on 530w screen.

On com 2 everything works normal - RX shows up on 530w screen with PTT pressed.

I was able to get a radio check from the local area to verify my findings.

So all I can gather is that a wire is loose or grounded.

My IA is going to do the inspection and paperwork but obviously I either find this issue and resolve it or have to have him or someone else find it.

From what I've described can anyone shed some advice on where the problem likely resides?
