So last night was a calm and beautiful night accross Central and Southern Indiana so I decided to catch up on some night time flying experience. After a normal warm up and taxi and take off from the BMG to LAF. I landed at LAF and taxied back to the active where I had to wait for about 15 minutes for other arriving and departing traffic. Upon taking the runway and then rollout, I noticed my attitude indicator showed an extremely nose high and a bank to the right. I did a quick instrument cross check and found all my other instruments (including compass) to indicate a normal climb at 700fpm with no bank or turn. Eventually upon entering straight and level flight the attitude indicator came back to indicating properly. I will also note my heading indicator never failed to show an incorrect heading. I checked once in straight and level flight that my vacuum indicator had proper suction.
Remembering previous flights, I have had the exact same thing happen during similar line up and wait operations. is it possible I have the early signs of a vacuum pump failure? Maybe I've not seen this on previous flights because I do my run up checks right next to the departure runway. Any thoughts or recommendations would be welcome.
