Well my potential Cherokee purchase may not work out - more and more things keep coming up that need to be addressed and the buyer may not be willing to address them all.

But last week, a friend of a friend emailed me to see if I wanted to go into a 50-50 partnership with him on his 79 Archer...IFR equipped with about 1200 hours SMOH. It's more plane than I really need but I would be able to have an experienced pilot as a partner (which really appeals to me) and be able to split the operating costs. I would wind up paying as much for 1/2 the Archer as I would pay for all of the Cherokee.

So my questions are these...

1) Is an Archer too much airplane for a student pilot?

2) And, do I go through the whole pre-buy (annual?) nut roll again going into a partnership?

Thanks

P.S. By the way, I soloed late this afternoon in a Cherokee!! :D :D :D
