I would like to repair or replace the left wing tip on my 85 Archer. Has anyone had good results repairing wing tips or am I better off just replacing it? Mine has several 4 -6 cracks from the screw holes out towards the tips. It appears to be orginal and made of plastic. I have heard that "plastifix" works.

My mechanic recommended fiberglass over plastic replacement because he said most of the replacement plastic ones are of poor fit/quality. He showed me some aircraft with plastic replacements and they were warping between screw holes and not fiiting well.

I would like to stay with the original design that has a 6 inch strobe/position light on the tip.
