Looks like the venerable AN-2 will have to soldier on. Witnesses an AN-2 in passenger service in 1991 at the Odessa airport. The passengers loaded in, and at the warm-up the radial engine produced copious quantities of blue smoke. No manipulation of the throttle seemed to change that, so they shut down and the pax filed out and went over to another AN-2 on the ramp. That one had a successful run-up. It was somewhat shocking then to see a biplane radial-engine tailwheel aircraft in passenger service. It would be even more interesting to see it now.
