I have a 1965 Cherokee 180 and while replacing the starter it was noticed that the Alternator has a crack in the casing for the mounting bolt. Was told this will only increase with the vibration and eventually break, causing the alternator to loosen, etc. It seems like its pretty straightforward to replace the alternator. Any non-mechanics here done this before?
