Airline-style seat-belt extenders to secure cargo?

Do our seat belts share reciprocity with airline-style seat-belt extenders that are available online?

I'm thinking about securing some cargo, particularly in the middle-row area of a Seneca, with the seats removed. Has anybody done this or tried it?
