I bought a Piper Cherokee PA-28 180 serial 920 that was missing the carb air box. I have not been successful in locating one or having one built. The part number from piper is
63680--00 it's the Z model used only on the 0-360 180's the problem is places like acorn welding don't have a print to work from and I dont have a core to copy. I'm sure it looks similar to the 63680-13 which is readily available but the one I need has a bigger flange with 4.25 " center to center mounting holes. Someone suggested I build an adapter plate to make the -13 box for the O-320 engine work but concerned about the smaller diameter intake to the carb throat and how that might affect engine performance carb iceing etc. Any ideas ??? Would love to find someone that has an old core that could be used to make one or rebuilt. - Wayne. (415)314-0606
