I'm shopping around for a place to do an avionics upgrade to my Cherokee 140. I have the classic dual KX-170 setup as the centerpiece of my avionics suite.

I would like to have an autopilot as part of the upgrade. In talking with a local avionics shop, the manager said he would no longer install the Tru Trak autopilot since Bendix King took the product over. He claimed that there was a lot of trouble with the King product. He said he had customers with big problems after the install and had a half dozen or so head units and servos on his shelf that were dead right out of the box.

What experience have those who have installed the Aero Cruze 100 had?

I'm now wondering what alternatve I have for an economical autopilot.
