I found an interesting laser tool on eBay that some of you may find interesting and helpful. It's a very small cross-hair laser that has a magnet, rechargeable battery, and a built-in level. It can be purchased for about $15.00.

How do you use it?

The maget allows it to stick to the engine lift loop, which usually is perfectly square with the engine case parting line. The vertical line of the laser then projects directly onto the ring gear, providing an exact reference to the timing.

It works for me.

VFRs,
