Was wondering on any insight on the possibility of upgrading to the 180hp engine in my 74 warrior PA-28-151 It has the 160 in it now. Specifically is the money worth it? Where to do? Etc etc. it has 875 smoh done in 97. Eninge is making aluminum and we are in the process of figuring out if it is the piston pin plug, most likely. Oil analysis showed most like the above mentioned. Basically would it be worth the price. Plane is used for flight instruction and scenic stuff and a tiny bit of personal leisure stuff. Flown 75 hours since May with no problems, barely uses oil and compressions were good. Borescope showed no evidence of piston pin wear on borescope? So the aluminum is coming from somewhere?? Will be cutting the filter and checking suction screen on Sunday. So if I have more aluminum I'm guessing pull the most likely cylinder and relplace cap? Is this passing the sniff test? I have read the lycoming bulletins and have been doing what they say but they don't say much after fly and recheck. Your help would be kindly appreciated fellas
